The Perfect Calzone
If you haven’t tried my famous calzones let me show you how easy they are to make!! Derek requests these at least once a week!
What you put in them can change so you can play around with whatever you normally like on a pizza!
The main ingredients are pizza dough ball, Rao’s pizza sauce and any type of mozzarella cheese you like (dairy or dairy free).
Meat lovers:
1/2 lb sausage with salt, pepper, parsley and oregano sautéed in a pan with avocado oil.
Veggie:
Pepperocini
Black olives
Spinach
Red onion
Sausage or no sausage
In a small bowl mix melted butter and dry Italian seasoning.
Separate your servings of dough and stretch them out (tip: coat hands in flour). We like Publix pre made dough but trader is also really good! Place stretched dough one a greased pan and fill half with your sauce, filling and cheese. Fold over and tuck the creases into each other and crimp with a fork. Spread your butter and seasoning mix on top of the calzone.
Bake at 425 for 20 minutes.
