Wedding Dress Shopping: Tips for your special day
Calling all Brides!!!!
I am a 2025 bride and at the end of 2024 I found my wedding dress! I went to three different stores and tried on about 30 dresses! I found my dress by following the tips I am going to share below and hopefully they will help you!
Tip # 1
Bring people with you who will hype you up but will also be honest with you! Dress shopping can be overwhelming at times and you may definitely be torn on how you feel sometimes. Having someone who hypes you up with dresses you love but isn’t afraid to tell you if they think the dress is good for you or not is key! They can be honest but positive and help with those difficult decisions!
Tip # 2
Know your budget and include your alterations into that budget. Alterations can range from $500 to $2000 so if you only want to spend a certain amount on a dress give them a lower number so you can stay closer to that budget. And don’t be afraid to ask questions about cost of dress, alterations and additional things like sleeves etc. I also personally recommend making sure the stylist you work with only pulls gowns that are within that budget.
Tip # 3
Have an idea of dress styles that you can share with your stylist but keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to try different styles! I went in with one style I really liked and a few other options I thought were cute and ultimately walked away with a dress I was not expecting at all but fell in love with because I wasn’t afraid of trying things on! Enjoy the process and have fun with it!
